It’s A Partnership

  • If you are founding a new company (or rebranding an existing one), now is the time to start developing its visual identity. And, assuming it already has a name, the starting point is usually the company logo.

    FACE TO FACE MEETING

Designing a company logo is so much more than just coming up with something that looks good.

So the first thing to do, especially with new clients, is to have an in-depth meeting to learn what your business is all about. Not only what you want to sell and who you want to sell to, but also to get a good idea of the style and ethos you want your brand to convey.

    LOGO DESIGN

Taking what I’ve learnt from our meeting, I will go away and design some initial ideas and present them to you and your team. (SEE ILLUSTRATION). There may be an outright winner, but you may also want me to go back and change or refine something, or even, literally, go back to the drawing board.

As you can see this is a process. But I can’t stress enough how important it is to spend time on getting it right.

    WHY IT MATTERS

It matters because once you’ve given the green light to your nesw logo design, all of your subsequent marketing materials will take their lead from it: Your company’s colour palette and the fonts you use on your stationery, the look and feel of your website, your email footer, social media, video and presentation templates, your product or services brochures and even your company report.

    YOUR BRAND

My job is to work with you to develop a brand look and feel that you can be proud of, wherever it’s applied.

Done well it will boost efficiency, make your company more visible through its consistent appearance and quickly become a recognisable and trusted partner for your target audience.

  • Photography and Illustration

Selling products? You should consider professional product photography and/or illustrations.

It’s not just about the image itself that needs to be pin sharp and well lit. You will need it in multiple file formats and sizes to display properly on anything from a mobile phone screen to a large exhibition panel.

There’s nothing worse than having a nice shot, taken on a colleague’s phone, that looks great on the screen, but is horribly pixelated on your exhibition stand!

Product photos may also benefit from being cut out so that you have the flexibility to use them on different backgrounds.

Selling services? Then photos that suggest appropriate metaphors will be needed that are in line with the company ethos. As with product photos and illustrations, the higher the quality, the better.

    Copywriting

Despite the ease with which AI can provide well-written copy, you might prefer to sound like yourself. I can help with that, too.

  • Ongoing maintenance and SEO

Once everything is in place, your brand will need to be maintained and kept up-to-date.

You will want to keep your website looking dynamic and fresh, and as close to the top of the Google rankings as possible and visible in AI.
